Job Description

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals to support effective learning strategies for students with additional learning needs.
  • Provide tailored academic support to help designated students access the British curriculum and ASDAN awards to engage fully in all aspects of school life.
  • Assist students in understanding and following instructions, fostering independence and confidence in their learning.
  • Support students who experience communication difficulties or for whom English is an additional language.
  • Adapt learning activities to respond to individual student needs and requirements.
  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of personalised learning and development activities.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support pupils in their emotional, behavioural and social development, working in line with agreed strategies and student support plans.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of pupil profiles and Documented Learner Plans (formally IEPs)
  • Maintain effective communication with teaching staff, parents and other stakeholders to support student academic and holistic progress.
  • Supervise students during educational visits, after-school clubs and break times as required.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • A-Level / NVQ / High School Certificate (or equivalent)


Minimum Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting students with additional learning needs in a school setting


Skills And Attributes

  • Must be bi-lingual (English and Arabic) with an ability to speak, understand and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Passionate about student support and well-being
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professionalism and a positive, collaborative approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive practices
  • Adaptability and solution-focused mindset
  • Willing to complete CPD opportunities- Including attending online training related to ASDAN and other alternative curriculums
