Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals to support effective learning strategies for students with additional learning needs.
- Provide tailored academic support to help designated students access the British curriculum and ASDAN awards to engage fully in all aspects of school life.
- Assist students in understanding and following instructions, fostering independence and confidence in their learning.
- Support students who experience communication difficulties or for whom English is an additional language.
- Adapt learning activities to respond to individual student needs and requirements.
- Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of personalised learning and development activities.
- Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Support pupils in their emotional, behavioural and social development, working in line with agreed strategies and student support plans.
- Participate in the development and implementation of pupil profiles and Documented Learner Plans (formally IEPs)
- Maintain effective communication with teaching staff, parents and other stakeholders to support student academic and holistic progress.
- Supervise students during educational visits, after-school clubs and break times as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- A-Level / NVQ / High School Certificate (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience supporting students with additional learning needs in a school setting
- Must be bi-lingual (English and Arabic) with an ability to speak, understand and communicate effectively in both languages.
- Passionate about student support and well-being
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism and a positive, collaborative approach
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive practices
- Adaptability and solution-focused mindset
- Willing to complete CPD opportunities- Including attending online training related to ASDAN and other alternative curriculums
