Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Marine Inspector to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of marine vessels, structures, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of marine vessels, offshore structures, and related equipment to assess their condition, safety, and compliance with international maritime standards
- Conduct detailed examinations of hull structures, propulsion systems, safety equipment, and navigational instruments
- Analyze inspection findings and prepare accurate, detailed reports documenting observations, non-conformities, and recommendations
- Collaborate with ship owners, operators, and regulatory agencies to address identified issues and implement corrective actions
- Stay updated on the latest maritime regulations, inspection techniques, and industry standards
- Utilize advanced inspection tools and software to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of inspections
- Participate in safety meetings and provide expert advice on marine safety matters
- Travel to various project sites within the UAE and potentially internationally as required
- Maintain a high level of professional conduct and adhere to ethical standards in all inspection activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection processes and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine inspection or a related maritime role
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime standards, regulations, and inspection techniques
- Proven experience in conducting thorough inspections of various types of marine vessels and structures
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations related to marine operations
- Proficiency in relevant inspection software and tools
- Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings
- Relevant marine inspection certifications (e.g., NACE, FROSIO, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to work in challenging marine environments and adapt to changing conditions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform inspections in diverse marine settings
- Willingness to travel to various project sites within the UAE and potentially internationally
- Familiarity with UAE maritime regulations and standards is a plus
