Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Inspector to join our team in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of structural elements in our major projects.
- Conduct thorough inspections of structural components in Roads and Bridges projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, local building codes, and safety standards
- Review and familiarize yourself with project contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures
- Perform on-site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
- Maintain accurate records of contractor resources, equipment, and daily activities
- Prepare comprehensive daily reports for the RE or SE, including work orders, materials delivery, and inspection programs
- Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance procedures on-site
- Conduct site measurements and surveying checks for bridge work and associated structures
- Coordinate with the client project manager during site inspections
- Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records
- Assist in resolving site issues promptly in collaboration with the RE or SE
- Participate in the start-up, commissioning, and handover processes of site works
- Maintain detailed records of materials tests and executed works
- Perform audit inspections to ensure conformity with contract documents and contractor-submitted plans
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in structural inspection for building projects
- At least 3 years of experience working in the UAE (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Ras Al Khaimah and the UAE
- Strong understanding of contract documents, detailed drawings, and project specifications
- Proficiency in structural inspection software and tools
- Excellent site supervision and inspection skills
- Thorough knowledge of quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Competence in site measurement and surveying techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willingness to work on-site in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety regulations
