Job Description
The Department of Architectural Engineering within the College of Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking applications for the position of Instructor. Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong background in Building Construction, proficiency in Building digital modeling, and previous experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Desired competencies include expertise with contemporary software tools relevant to the field. Applicants need to submit a comprehensive application package comprising a cover letter, a detailed resume detailing courses taught, and other relevant experiences. English proficiency is essential as it is the language of instruction and communication. Applications will be screened on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Minimum Qualification
Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in architecture or architectural engineering, along with a Master's degree specializing in Building Construction, digital representation tools, building modeling and fabrication, or a closely related field or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university. The ability to teach undergraduate courses along excellent communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualification
Prior teaching, industrial, and professional experience are highly advantageous for this position. Candidates with experience in architectural education, industry, or professional practice will be given preference. Specifically, we are seeking candidates with a strong background in building construction methods. Ideal candidates will have practical knowledge and expertise in various construction techniques, materials, and technologies used in architectural practice. They should be able to effectively integrate theoretical concepts with real-world applications in the teaching of architectural engineering. Additionally, familiarity with current industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to building construction is desirable.
Expected Skills
Experience and skill with contemporary software (Revit, BIM etc.) appropriate to the specialization will be highly desirable. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Experience in/strong commitment to engineering education including but not limited to, curriculum, and pedagogical approach development.
