About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, the Sustainability Intern will support the hotel's environmental and social responsibility efforts by coordinating initiatives, maintaining data and reports, assisting with audits, promoting engagement, and collaborating on wellness and sustainability events.

About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, the Sustainability Intern will support the hotel's environmental and social responsibility efforts by coordinating initiatives, maintaining data and reports, assisting with audits, promoting engagement, and collaborating on wellness and sustainability events.
As a Sustainability Intern you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local associations and community organizations to promote volunteer opportunities for hotel colleagues. Track, record, and report volunteering hours to ensure engagement goals are met and aligned with corporate social responsibility targets.
- Maintain and update all sustainability-related data, projects, and performance metrics on the GreenView platform. Ensure timely and accurate input to reflect ongoing initiatives and progress toward sustainability goals.
- Actively participate in monthly hotel-level sustainability meetings and represent the hotel during quarterly corporate sustainability calls. Support the preparation of meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Support the hotel’s preparation for annual sustainability audits including DST, GSTC and FLHSS. Assist in gathering required documentation and coordinating with relevant departments.
- Serve as a sustainability ambassador and main point of contact for colleagues with questions, ideas, or feedback regarding the hotel’s environmental and social initiatives.
- Promote upcoming sustainability initiatives and events through internal communication channels. Share outcomes and success stories to encourage ongoing participation and support.
- Continuously research and propose new sustainability practices or technologies that can enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, or improve guest and employee experiences.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of guest feedback related to sustainability initiatives. Analyze trends and report findings to help inform improvements and future initiatives.
- Assist the People & Culture department with the planning, coordination, and execution of all wellness and sustainability-related events and initiatives for colleagues, ensuring strong engagement and smooth logistics.
- Update the sustainability communications dashboard on a monthly basis to reflect ongoing initiatives, key milestones, and colleague engagement activities.
- Senior School qualification or equivalent
- Bachelor degree (or currently enrolled) in Tourism/Hospitality/Sustainability/Environment Protection programme is an advantage.
- Strong commands of Microsoft Office products
- Perform job with attention to details and the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Clear communication; effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Fluency in Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish, German or Russian in addition to English.
- Completion of sustainability-related university courses or certifications is an added advantage.
