Junior Accountant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join the financial department of our client, a prestigious Federation. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to develop their accounting career and contribute to the smooth operation of the Federation's finances.

As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, possess excellent attention to detail, and be comfortable working with numbers. You will work as part of a professional team to help the organization maintain transparency and financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions accurately.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Manage accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in line with legal and Federation accounting guidelines.
• Review expenses, payroll records, and other financial tasks as assigned.
• Update financial data in databases for accurate and timely access.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly financial reports.
• Support senior accountants in monthly/yearly closings.
• Assist with other accounting projects as required.
  
  
  

Key Requirements & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Junior Accountant.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with numerical data.
• A good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP).
• A qualification in accounting (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage but not mandatory.
• A BSC/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
