Junior Public Health Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a Junior Public Health Engineer who will be a part of our Building Services team and will support with preparing design calculations, space and volume sketch and design mark-ups in CAD and REVIT as applicable to the project and delivering public health systems for buildings and infrastructure projects. This role will be based in Dubai.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical / Building services engineering or a related field (Masters degree in Engineering is an added advantage).
• 2+ years of experience in Public Health Engineering with hands-on involvement in design and installation of systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design/drafting software for accurate production of design deliverables.
• Knowledge of international and local codes/standards such as BS EN, CIBSE, NFPA, IOP, IPC, UPC, IGBC, ASHRAE, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, IFGC, ADM, and other authority regulations.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing authority submissions for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and KSA projects, but not limited to these regions.
• Familiar with hydraulic modelling and analysis software for system sizing and performance checks.
• Awareness of sustainability frameworks such as LEED, WELL, and Estidama; certification in green building systems is a plus.
• Skilled in preparing design calculations, drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
  
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Design public health systems for water supply, drainage, rainwater harvesting, and waste management for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Develop engineering calculations and drawings, specifications, using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and environmental sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with seniors and internal teams to integrate public health systems into overall project designs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams during the design phase to ensure proper co-ordination of systems.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory approvals and inspections.
• Incorporate sustainable solutions such as water-saving technologies, greywater recycling, and energy-efficient systems into designs.
• Implement innovative technologies to enhance system efficiency and environmental performance.
• Provide technical support to resolve issues during design, installation, and maintenance phases.
• Conduct site inspections and provide recommendations to ensure project quality and compliance.
