About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sous Chef to join The Cala Vista Team in Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

• Assist Sous Chef in supervising kitchen staff and maintaining cooking standards.
  
• Help plan menus, create and test recipes, and attend daily meetings with Executive Sous Chef.
  
• Write accurate product specifications and standard recipes for system and material management use.
  
• Plan weekly staff rosters, monitor daily adjustments, and manage overtime, holidays, and absenteeism.
  
• Liaise with Chief Steward to maintain kitchen cleanliness and support smooth kitchen operations by optimizing resources.
  
• Coordinate training, motivate the team, cook as needed, and maintain Madinat Jumeirah quality standards.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Two years of experience in the same role in a 5-star luxury property or a standalone/branded restaurant.
  
• Diploma in Catering required; Health & Safety certification preferred.
  
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Opera PMS (Cloud) and HotSoS.
  
• Leadership and team management skills.
