Role Summary and Impact
As a Performance Account Manager, you will lead Paid Search strategy and execution for one of our largest clients. Working within a 4-person team, you will be responsible for account leadership, campaign performance, strategic planning, and innovation through data and automation. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about Paid Search and capable of linking it directly to business impact.

Role Summary and Impact
As a Performance Account Manager, you will lead Paid Search strategy and execution for one of our largest clients. Working within a 4-person team, you will be responsible for account leadership, campaign performance, strategic planning, and innovation through data and automation. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about Paid Search and capable of linking it directly to business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence and Analysis:
- Plan, launch, optimize and own end-to-end campaigns across Google Search, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and Microsoft Ads, covering everything from best-in-class campaign structures, keyword strategy, audience segmentation, ad copy/creative testing, and bid strategy setup to performance analysis, product and category performance, and ongoing campaign refinement.
- Leverage Smart Bidding, Audience Targeting, and AI-driven automation to scale efficiently
- Strong command of core Paid Search nuances (Impr share, CPC, CTR, Quality score, match type, bid strategies) and its impact.
- Exemplary time management skills, able to prioritize and work well under pressure.
- Adhere to all agreed upon processes, work with the team for full adoption and work closely with the client to improve these.
- Leverage data analysis capabilities to glean actionable insights, enhancing strategy and client outcomes – happy to look into deep and granular details to gain insight.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for in-depth performance analysis and reporting.
- Adopt a continual ‘test and learn’ approach to Paid Search activities, with a strong understanding of different testing frameworks.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and updates in Paid Search.
- Ensure client satisfaction by focusing on high-quality deliverables, effective communication, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices and insights across the team.
- Always think and evaluate situations from the client's perspective, consistently communicating with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions and strategies.
- Build trust-based relationships, challenging the status quo to provoke client business development and implement new ideas.
- Lead automation-based initiatives on platforms like Google Ads and SA360, sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
- Strategically nurtures relationships with key decision-makers by helping them successfully navigate through critical business changes and address complex issues in their businesses.
- Anticipate client needs and set up processes to meet these expectations, taking full responsibility for search best practices within assigned accounts.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and Google / Bing, offering data-driven strategic advice and managing test implementations.
- Take accountability for budgets and performance targets, focusing on consistently achieving clients' targets.
- Develop ways of working that maximize client output whilst minimizing operational input.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in performance marketing with a focus on SEM.
- Proficiency in Google, Bing, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and Twitter ads with a focus on Google Ads and SA360.
- Demonstrable experience in managing multiple accounts, with full ownership of budgets and targets.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work leading to positive client outcomes.
- Experience in identifying and solving challenges through effective leadership.
- Proven organization and attention to detail skills
- Experience nurturing junior digital staff and enhancing their growth.
- Deep understanding of the digital ecosystem, tracking, tech stack, and measurement.
- A real passion for Paid search is required for this role, this is not a broad role, it is a senior paid search specialist role able to map paid search to business challenges.
- Future Facing approach and curiosity, Paid Search is changing, and this role is about preparing our client for that change and leveraging data and testing to prove success.
- Expertise in Paid Search, demonstrated by a proven record of accomplishment of driving performance for clients.
