Position Overview

Reporting to the Associate or Project Director, the Lead Architect plays a key role in managing and delivering a portfolio of architectural projects. This individual is responsible for upholding design quality, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with local authorities, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Design Leadership

• Independently manage a portfolio of architectural projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and oversee project programs and schedules with Senior Architects.
• Coordinate with concept teams to ensure timely, budget-aligned delivery.
• Lead the schematic and detailed design phases ensuring quality, innovation, and compliance.
• Conduct design presentations and client meetings alongside the Associate.

Client & Consultant Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and sub-consultants.
• Prepare and review design briefs and proposals in line with client requirements.
• Monitor client approvals and maintain clear records of communication and actions.

Technical Oversight

• Lead production and quality of all design documentation across project stages.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and submission requirements.
• Review and approve specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.

Tender & Procurement Management

• Advise on procurement strategies tailored to client needs.
• Oversee the preparation of tender documentation with QS and technical teams.
• Lead technical assessments and contractor interviews.
• Recommend successful tenderers based on technical and financial reviews.

Quality Assurance

• Enforce adherence to the company’s Quality Management System.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes and project delivery.
• Conduct regular project reviews to ensure deliverables align with quality standards.

Financial Management

• Understand and manage consultancy agreements and invoicing procedures.
• Track project profitability and report regularly to senior leadership.
• Approve sub-consultant invoices and coordinate with finance for client billing.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (mandatory).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a lead or senior architectural role in the UAE (Mandatory).
• Strong design sensibility, technical knowledge, and project coordination skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and timelines effectively.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing abilities.
