Role Purpose:

GHD is seeking a Lead Conceptual Landscape Architect to join our globally connected design team in Abu Dhabi. This is a unique opportunity for a creative leader who is passionate about reimagining outdoor environments and embedding sustainability into every design. You’ll bring a bold perspective and the ability to communicate compelling design narratives to clients and stakeholders.

As a key member of our team, you will shape high-impact landscape solutions, focusing on the early visioning and conceptual phases of projects. You’ll also play a pivotal role in mentoring talent, driving innovation, and contributing to GHD’s design excellence across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptual Design: Lead the creation of visionary, sustainable, and user-centric landscape concepts that elevate the built environment.
• Project Leadership: Guide projects from ideation through to concept development, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Client Engagement: Act as a trusted design advisor, clearly articulating the value and impact of design decisions to clients.
• Sustainability & Resilience: Champion green infrastructure, biodiversity, and climate-responsive design strategies.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, urban designers, and environmental specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentorship: Inspire and support junior designers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Design Documentation: Oversee the production of clear, consistent, and high-quality design deliverables.
• Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate emerging technologies and materials into your design approach.
• Internal Collaboration: Contribute to GHD Design’s global design review panel and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
• Chartered or licensed Landscape Architect preferred.
• 10+ years of experience with a strong portfolio of visionary and sustainable projects.
• Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion); BIM and GIS familiarity is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of LEED, Estidama, and other green certification frameworks.
