Role Overview

Wio Bank is redefining SME banking in the UAE through innovation, simplicity, and digital-first solutions. We are looking for a passionate and results-driven SME Acquisition Team Lead to spearhead our client acquisition efforts in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. This strategic role is responsible for leading a team of Relationship Officers to drive the acquisition of high-value, new-to-bank SME customers, with a strong focus on the trade, services, manufacturing, and free zone sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Performance Management: Build, lead, and manage a team of Relationship Officers focused on acquiring high-value SME clients. Set clear targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching and support to ensure success.
  • Market Development & Client Acquisition: Develop and execute acquisition strategies tailored to the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain SME landscape, with a focus on trade, services, manufacturing, and free zone entities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including free zone authorities, trade associations, and regulatory bodies to support business development.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Awareness: Ensure the team operates within the regulatory framework, maintaining high standards of compliance and risk awareness in client onboarding and engagement.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular updates on acquisition performance, market trends, and client feedback to inform strategic decisions and product development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in SME banking or business development in the UAE, with a strong focus on Abu Dhabi and Al Ain markets.
  • Deep understanding of the regional business ecosystem, including free zones, trade, services, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to SME banking.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving growth in a digital-first banking environment.
