Librarian (Primary & Secondary)

The School Librarian is responsible for managing the school library, fostering a love for reading, and supporting students and teachers by providing access to a variety of educational resources. The librarian ensures the library functions as an effective learning space, promotes literacy programs, and integrates technology to enhance research and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Library Management & Organization:

• Maintain an organized, updated, and accessible collection of books, digital resources, and reference materials.
• Develop and implement library policies, procedures, and borrowing systems.
• Classify, catalog, and label new materials according to standard library practices.
• Ensure the library is well-maintained, welcoming, and conducive to learning.
• Assist students in developing research and information literacy skills.
• Support teachers by recommending and providing instructional resources aligned with the curriculum.
• Guide students in using library databases and digital learning tools.
  
  

Technology & Digital Resources

• Maintain and update digital library systems, including e-books and online research tools.
• Teach students how to access and evaluate digital information effectively.
• Integrate technology into library services to support modern learning methods.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English with experience in Teaching and Managing Library
• Previous experience as a librarian, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital research tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for literacy, education, and working with students.
• Excellect command in English language
• Familiarity with UAE educational policies and curriculum is an advantage.
