Lifecycle Services Technical Buyer

Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing the purchasing function within the Lifecycle Services Parts & Quick Ship organization to ensure materials are procured to meet customer requirements on time and drive cost savings while maintaining overall service levels.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Ensure on time Purchase Order placement to both intercompany & external vendors
• Issue Work Orders for Make items.
• Manage order acknowledgements & perform regular follow-ups/expedite (as required) to ensure customer requirements are met on time.
• Implement the latest vendor price lists & ensure item master database is maintained with current lead time, price, sourcing rule etc.
• Perform vendor setup activities
• Handle purchasing workflows in the activation of new items
• Provide resolution for supplier logged invoices and action on GRNI
• Act as Import Gatekeeper
• Drive cost containment, reduction and avoidance by sourcing from best cost vendors.
• Evaluate vendor performance and take vital steps to improve supplier OTD to meet the business requirements.
• Provide quick resolution for inbound shipment discrepancies
• Collaborate with vendors, QA, manufacturing, product engineers etc. to resolve quality issues identified during incoming inspection
• Prepare monthly Purchasing reports as required
• Provide information on PO/WO status to internal partners (Planning, Customer Service, Shipping, Warehouse etc.) and external collaborators like LBP’s, end customers etc.
• Ensure adherence to local and international Emerson Trade Compliance procedures in connection with all transactions and business practices.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Instrumentation and Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in procurement.
• General knowledge of material types
  
  

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• 3-5 years’ experience in Control Valves Industry within Procurement or Planning.
