A linen sorter is responsible for organizing and separating linens, such as towels, bed sheets, and blankets, for a commercial laundry facility or hotel.

Responsibilities

• Sort linens according to type, size, and color
• Inspect linens for stains, tears, or other damage
• Remove items that require special attention or repair
• Load linens into washing machines
• Add detergents and select appropriate wash cycles
• Operate industrial laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers
• Fold and stack linens after washing and drying
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety procedures and guideline
  
  
  

Skills and Qualification

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a similar role may be preferred, but not always required
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy loads of laundry
• Attention to detail to identify and remove damaged items
• Basic knowledge of laundry equipment and detergents may be preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team environment
