Logistics Officer (Emirati Talent)

Job Summary:

The Logistics Officer coordinates and supports the overall Logistics process to ensure operational efficiency, quality and successful execution of the assigned projects. The job incumbent is responsible for implementing the project activities, preparing schedules, arranging transportation, tracking shipments, optimizing resources, managing inventory, building contingency plans and maintaining logistics database.

Key Accountabilities:

• Support in planning the set-up of project sites ensuring sufficient availability of resources; schedule upcoming tasks and activities
• Arrange appropriate transportation to facilitate the movement of goods in compliance with the project requirements
• Support in overseeing the process of receiving, dispatching and storage of materials while managing information from point of origin to delivery and resolve any issues that may hamper the efficient workflow
• Track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and ensure complete documentation and authorization of all shipments to maintain accurate records
• Utilize inventory management system to monitor and maintain optimum inventory levels at minimum costs
• Organize the storage and oversee the repair and maintenance of the storage facility
• Coordinate and monitor the workflow ensuring all who are involved in the project execution (ex. Logistics operators, helpers, contractors, etc.) perform their assigned tasks at their optimal capacity
• Maintain the logistics database and prepare weekly report related to material movements and logistics matters
• Communicate with various stakeholders including customers, vendors, colleagues, key people across departments to ensure smooth flow of information while providing regular updates on the tasks
• Prioritize work orders and organize tasks based on project deadlines
• Ensure compliance and conformity with all legislative safety directives and regulations including OSHA policies and protocols to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment.
  
  

Experience & Education Qualifications:

• Minimum: Minimum: 3 years of extensive experience in logistics or supply chain management
  
  

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; Supply Chain Management, Logistics or relevant field.
