OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible to be knowledgeable of the Division’s SOPs and Policies to better understand and conduct the different managerial functions within the departments of Revenue Division; i.e. Revenue & Reservations, in accordance with hotel standards. Gaining on-the-job experience by supporting the day-to-day operation of the Revenue & Reservations office and assisting in the implementation of different projects for a period of 12 months. This role will require exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. The best candidate will have an engaging manner and understand the importance of delivering intuitive and first-class service.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Attend all the in-house trainings as directed by the Training Manager. • Complete 6 modules of the Harvard Manage Mentor program. (40 courses) • Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. • Maintain positive guest relations at all times. • Ensure positive and healthy atmosphere in the office, maintain a high level of motivation within a team. • All other duties as required. • Using the tools provided and in compliance with the Rosewood standards, maintains, updates and shares information in the areas of a master calendar of external events, competitor rate intelligence, RevPar penetration (RGI), arrival and spending patterns of commercial accounts, denial reports, meeting space allocation, guest capture rates (with the F&B Mgr), Loyalty program penetration both overall and by account (and for bookers), system contribution and trends in rooms and non-rooms revenues by channel, segment and account. • Understand the composition of hotel profitability and uses this to evaluate business from local accounts and groups so as to provide input to future rate setting and negotiation. • Taking part in the Revenue Meeting and generates reports and analyses needed for these meetings, displaying key facts/trends etc. • Monitor and determine demand periods for function space, rooms and catering through an analysis of historical data and current bookings. Responsible for tracking and analyzing of booking pace, group wash, cut off enforcement for groups as well as denied and regretted business. • Manage use of revenue systems* on a daily basis. This includes the responsibility for any manipulation of the yield hurdle points and daily inventory balancing where appropriate. • Support Director of Revenue in championing all special projects relating to systems, process development, team training and development and other revenue projects. • Handle accommodation inquiries following Rosewood Brand's Standards, Forbes and LQA guidelines. • Obtain all designated information to book a reservation. • Accommodate special requests and designate such in system.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience: At least one 6-month internship at a 5 star hotel. • Education: Diploma from an Accredited Hotel Management School. • General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of company information and pertinent hotel data. • Technical Skills: Ability to input and access information into system; ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult guests; ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure; ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guests; ability to work without directs supervision. Basic computer functions and user-friendly systems, Microsoft Office. • Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred. • Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding. • Licenses & Certifications: None required.
