Job Purpose

The Manager Industry Affairs will manage and promote Emirates’ priorities within the context of industry trade bodies such as International Air Transport Association (IATA). The role also entails engaging in advocacy work on key industry related developments and thereby achieving Emirates’ commercial, financial and wider policy objectives on industry affairs issues.

The Manager Industry Affairs will manage and promote Emirates’ priorities within the context of industry trade bodies such as International Air Transport Association (IATA). The role also entails engaging in advocacy work on key industry related developments and thereby achieving Emirates’ commercial, financial and wider policy objectives on industry affairs issues.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead Emirates participation in IATA distribution and settlement systems (e.g. Billing and Settlement Plans, Cargo Accounts Settlement Systems), ensuring optimal representation in regional governance forums and extracting full value from agency programs.
- Drive Emirates’ involvement in forward-thinking industry initiatives such as IATAs New Distribution Capability (NDC) and offer & order transformation, aligning with commercial modernisation goals.
- Monitor, assess and steer regulatory developments across key markets, formulate effective advocacy strategies, and represent Emirates in industry forums to safeguard and advance the airline’s commercial interests.
- Actively engage with key industry bodies (IATA, Arab Air Carriers' Organisation, global trade associations), identifying trends and activities that could influence Emirates’ strategic direction. Shape industry narratives and promote Emirates’ position in global platforms.
- Represent Emirates as an accredited or alternate delegate in IATA Agency and Standards meetings and conferences, and other relevant meetings, contributing to policy development and industry alignment.
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelors' Degree or Honours with with 10+ years of experience in Commercial /Sales. Research/Analysis
- Degree in Business, Law, International Relations or a related area is preferred
- Experience in or exposure to the airline industry with a significant number of years spent in a managerial/senior capacity
- In-depth experience in airline industry affairs, airline trade associations and stakeholder management
- Profound expertise in the IATA Settlement Systems including Passenger & Cargo Agency Programmes, and agency risk management.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly grasp technical details and understand and analyse business impact
- Ability to identify and gather relevant information from diverse sources, build and maintain strategic relationships, and representation skills
