As Manager Cargo Operations, you will lead Import, Export and Special Products activities of Cargo Operations at multiple Cargo Terminals in Dubai to ensure the departments contractual obligations and service delivery objectives are met, ensuring safety of operations whilst controlling capital and cost budget. This is a full-time role is based in our Dubai office.

As Manager Cargo Operations, you will lead Import, Export and Special Products activities of Cargo Operations at multiple Cargo Terminals in Dubai to ensure the departments contractual obligations and service delivery objectives are met, ensuring safety of operations whilst controlling capital and cost budget. This is a full-time role is based in our Dubai office.
In This Role, You Will
- Review Cargo mid and long-term business direction and objectives and provides recommendations for improvement in line with the dnata’s strategy and ensures achievement of objectives to promote the terminal operations.
- Prepare and recommend Cargo budget to include manpower, expenditure and facilities and monitors financial performance versus the budget.
- Develop and maintains the highest standard service to airlines, integrators and other customers that use the Terminal service by ensuring efficient delivery of all special products in compliance with ISO, IATA, CEIV, ICAO and UAE GCAA regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement and execute the service delivery strategies for integrators including, but not limited to transportation, staffing, equipment, process and procedures to the international standards, SLAs and agreements of the integrators.
- Ensure that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions.
- Manage effective achievement of departmental objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisals in order to maximise performance (for both permanent and sub-contracted staff).
- Ensure all activities related to Dangerous Goods Handling are implemented in line with the relevant procedures, training and control mechanisms.
- Manage the development of all cargo products to ensure dnata’s capabilities to meet and deliver various logistics solutions. Ensure service obligations of all special cargo products customers are understood and implemented as per the division’s short-, medium and long-term strategies.
- Review and provides inputs to the SLAs of customer airlines to ensure alignment with dnata’s policies and regulations and internal service providers.
- Recommend cargo infrastructure development, projects and resources needed to senior management to constantly align service delivery capability with the divisions service delivery objectives.
- Responsible for managing all cargo products including time and temperature sensitive goods, live animals, courier and mail, dangerous goods, etc. Oversees established KPIs related to shipment handling are in compliance.
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Honours in related discipline.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in ground handling / cargo operations including 4 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge in Airside Operations including Turnaround, Passenger, Baggage, Operations Services, cargo handling systems, equipment and computer applications.
- Advanced knowledge in Customer SLAs and policies (dnata, Emirates and dnata Cargo)
- Advanced understanding of Cargo Regulatory requirements and Freight regulations.
- Proficiency in Budget and Cost Control.
- Experience working within the ground handling industry.
