Synopsis

To establish a Quality Management Program for Etihad Product and Hospitality for ongoing management and continuous improvement of food safety and halal compliance of existing and potential food, beverage and material suppliers and their products. Ensure that all UAE and global regulatory standards are met and develop a framework for evaluation, monitoring and ongoing management.

Accountabilities

  • Develop with Etihad Catering teams and related stakeholders a strategic approach to global food safety, Halal and HACCP legislation and compliance. Research and keep all stakeholders regularly updated on changes to global/country specific legislation or regulations impacting food safety, quality, hygiene or HACCP compliance.
  • Ensure that EY policies and procedures reflect and comply with these requirements.Accountable for the development, maintenance and enhancement of a planned annual work program to assess food safety and Halal compliance of Etihad F&B and service partners globally.
  • Responsible for conducting independent, fair and thorough food safety and Halal audits at EY F&B partners adhering to internationally recognised principles of auditing. Develop, update and continuously improve EY food safety, Halal compliance and quality assurance manuals and procedures.
  • Work closely with EY Legal, Guest Relations and other stakeholders to address customer generated complaints including investigation and resolution with concerned F&B partner.
  • Design, control and continuously improve any food safety compliance documentation to be completed prior to award or during contract periods with F&B partners.
  • Track, analysis and report food safety and Halal performance trends across global F&B partners and suppliers. Work closely with Etihad Catering leadership.Working with HR and other internal stakeholders, design and deliver training programs which strengthen and enhance EY employee understanding of food safety and Halal compliance, hygiene practices, allergen awareness and other areas relevant to supporting quality improvement.
  • Ensure upkeep of all food safety, quality and Halal compliance documentation related to incidents and completion of corrective actions by stakeholders and partners.
  • Control ingredient and allergen declaration processes with local and global F&B partners. Ensure upkeep and continuous improvement of processes to minimise and mitigate risk to internal and external parties.

Education & Experience

  • Degree level education in Microbiology, Biological Sciences or Environmental Health desired. Alternatively, degree in scientific discipline with additional relevant professional qualifications.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience conducting Food Safety/Quality/HACCP compliance audits in food manufacturing or catering industry with at least 5 experience in leadership and managing the performance of other Auditors.
  • Internationally certified as an Auditor or Lead Auditor from a recognised institute.
  • Excellent communicator in written and spoken English, global leadership perspective on food and catering supplier challenges, ability to influence up, down and across stakeholder channels
