Synopsis

The Manager Fleet Airworthiness reports to the Senior Manager Fleet Airworthiness (SMFA) and is responsible to manage and have complete control of the airworthiness functions related to the aircraft Certificate of Airworthiness issuance and Airworthiness Review Certificate issuance and renewal process of the assigned Etihad fleet.

Accountabilities

  • Manages the complete aircraft physical surveys and complete aircraft historical technical records (ATL, modification records, Airworthiness Directives, Damage assessment, Life Limited Parts, mandatory placards and markings, etc.) review process for the Certificate of Airworthiness issuance and Airworthiness Review Certificate issuance and renewal on assigned aircraft.
  • Identifies deficiencies observed during aircraft physical and document review and ensure timely corrective actions are taken by those responsible to maintain validity of Certificate of Airworthiness.
  • Develops and continuously improve the checklists for aircraft physical surveys and document review as required by CAR M.
  • Assists the Senior Manager Fleet Airworthiness (SMFA) in developing and implementing CAR M Subpart I related procedures into the company Technical Procedures Manual (TPM).
  • Liaises with the GCAA on Certificate of Airworthiness issuance and Airworthiness Review certificate issuance and renewals and recommendations on behalf of the SMFA. This includes organizing regular meetings with the GCAA to provide updates and feedback on each assigned aircraft where necessary.
  • Ensures comprehensive technical reports related to the Airworthiness Review Certificate inspections are produced and inform Senior Management of adverse trends or areas requiring urgent attention and improvement that may compromise safety and aircraft operation.
  • Develops, monitors and manages aircraft inspections on assigned fleets to meet annual ARC audit plan. Raising non-conformance reports, reviewing root cause and assessing preventive actions submitted by the concerned department and final acceptance of corrective actions.
  • Evaluates, coordinates and carries-out projects that are deemed necessary by the SMFA to enhance the safety standards of the technical operations and/or Technical departments to achieve set goals.
  • Implement SMS systems and processes and ensure formal Risk Assessments are carried out for operationally significant changes.
  • Ensures a safe and secure working environment for Etihad employees. Promotes quality of work, safety and security awareness.
  • Actively manages any incidents that may occur in order to minimize Etihad employees’ injury and other forms of loss.
  • Provides the appropriate time, training, resources and encouragement to Etihad employees to support their involvement in the on-going development of Etihad’s Safety Management System and safety culture.

Education & Experience

  • At least five years’ experience in continuing airworthiness.
  • An appropriate license in compliance with CAR-66 (B1/B2/C endorsed with aircraft type) OR Bachelor degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or electrical/Electronic engineering OR a national equivalent.
  • Formal Aeronautical maintenance training and a position within the approved organization with appropriate responsibilities.
  • Experience in airworthiness review which includes ARC renewal, radio license, registration and de-registration of an aircraft, export COA
  • Good communication and external/internal stakeholder management.
