Job Description
The Sharia Research & Product Development Manager - Internal Shari’ah Control supports the Head of Internal Shari’ah Control in carrying out the Shari’ah Research & Product Development function, in line with the Sharia Governance Framework & Policy and the relevant standards and regulations prescribed by the UAE-CB and Higher Shari’ah Authority.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
The Sharia Research & Product Development Manager - Internal Shari’ah Control supports the Head of Internal Shari’ah Control in carrying out the Shari’ah Research & Product Development function, in line with the Sharia Governance Framework & Policy and the relevant standards and regulations prescribed by the UAE-CB and Higher Shari’ah Authority.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Conduct Shari’ah research for procedural issues requested by ENBD ISSC.
- Conduct Shari’ah research for matters or issues requested by the head of Internal Shari’ah Control Department.
- Ensure Shari’ah research covers all the relevant opinions across the four schools of thought, the contemporary opinions issued by jurist assemblies and internationally renowned Shari’ah scholars.
- Contribute with Shari’ah research in the development of Shari’ah compliant investments, products and services, with other relevant stakeholders in ENBD Group (excluding EI).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Shari’ah.
- Certified Sharia Advisor & Auditor (CSSA) by AAOIFI is desired.
- 2 years experience working within a similar role
- In depth knowledge in Shari’ah jurisprudence across the four schools of thought.
- Detailed knowledge on the Islamic Banking structures and services.
- In depth knowledge in AAOIFI’s Shari’ah Standards.
- Strong understanding of Islamic Banking and Shari’ah governance principles.
- Strong knowledge of Islamic finance related laws in relevant jurisdictions
- In depth knowledge on product development stages and process.
