Synopsis

Manager Aircraft Datalink and Systems Engineering reports to Head of Flight Operations Support (HFOS), Managing aircraft and ground Datalink/ communication systems, new technology and innovation with advanced flight-deck systems and Electronic Flight Bag

Accountabilities

• Management of the department’s budget, human and financial resources.
• Development and Management of contractual and agreement summaries within the flight operations division detailing deliverables, accountabilities, and critical milestones.
• Supplier management, development and implementation of Service Level Agreements and suppliers KPI’s
• Develop business cases to support the cost/benefits evaluation of proposed projects and new aircraft Entry into service to ensure its feasibility in line with the aircraft connectivity and EFB Strategy.
• Lead the development of project proposals and solution plans according to Etihad project management framework and methodologies to ensure the feasibility of the new technologies, EFB, Aircraft Connectivity initiatives and new aircraft entry into service.
• Create, monitor, and update program work plans to ensure requirements are managed and projects are delivered on time and on budget.
• Communicate to the project sponsor/business leads to ensure delivery of key messages to relevant stakeholders for effective decision making.
• Analyse and review change requests to ensure impact on timelines and budget is properly evaluated.
• Lead program monitoring activities to ensure major risks and issues are highlighted and managed on a timely and efficient manner.
• Manages the support relationship with the systems vendor and OEM’s, in relation to but not limited to best practice usage of the systems, enhancements, and issue identification.
• Responsible for managing new aircraft and ground technology systems day to day business support and infrastructure requirements, “indirectly” leading the team of IT specialists to deliver cost savings and efficiencies in accordance with the departments business plans.
  
  

Education & Experience

• University Degree is preferable
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in operational role
• Minimum 5 years’ experience coordinating, supporting, and implementing Flight Operations IT business processes
• Knowledge in Aircraft and Ground Systems
• Strategic planning and project management skills
