Role Overview: We are seeking a strategic Marketplace Category Manager to oversee our digital gift card platforms within various online marketplaces. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms, and expertise in driving growth and profitability through effective category management strategies tailored to loyalty programs.
Job requirements:
- Proven experience in category management, preferably within digital products, e-commerce, or loyalty program environments.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, marketplace dynamics, and digital marketing strategies.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make data-driven decisions to optimize category performance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with analytics tools and platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead and inspire a team towards achieving strategic goals and business objectives.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the digital gift card platforms across online marketplaces, ensuring optimal visibility, customer engagement, and sales performance.
- Utilize market insights and analytics to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics to enhance category relevance and performance.
- Develop and execute category strategies and promotional plans to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention for loyalty programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and operations to align category strategies with overall business objectives and customer needs.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with marketplace partners to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotional opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as sales performance, customer feedback, and marketplace trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare regular performance reports and business reviews for senior management, providing insights into category performance, opportunities, and challenges.
- Lead and mentor a team of category specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, marketplace regulations, and data protection standards related to category management and customer interactions.
Reporting and Alignment:
- Report directly to the Operations Manager, aligning on strategic objectives, performance metrics, and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and other key stakeholders to integrate category management strategies with overall business operations and customer experience initiatives.
