Job Description

Job Summary:

The Materials Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and success of the company’s supply chain and production processes. This position involves overseeing the supply chain performance, which includes handling the movement of materials efficiently from suppliers through to production and finally to customers.

The Materials Manager must synchronize production plans with material availability across various departments, ensuring alignment and coordination. Central to this responsibility is the accountability for customer satisfaction achieved through guaranteeing that deliveries are made on time as promised.

The Materials Manager is also tasked with performing the materials plan with precision to improve profit. This duty requires minimizing waste, reducing costs, and optimizing processes. Service level improvement is another significant responsibility, where the manager leads programs designed to enhance responsiveness and flexibility, such as on-demand capabilities and lead-time reduction initiatives.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the materials management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excesses that could disrupt production.
  • Ensure all material management activities comply with industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee scheduling and logistics of inbound and outbound materials to align with production requirements.
  • Drive weekly Late Backlog Reviews to ensure resolution and timely order fulfillment.
  • Implement effective planning and purchasing practices to consistently improve service levels.
  • Provide the annual and monthly inventory plans for the Dubai plant, and deliver updates on a monthly and quarterly basis to global partners.
  • Drive year-over-year improvement in Inventory Turnover (ITO) through targeted inventory optimization actions.
  • Manage production load in accordance with planning rules, including Delivery Prospectus and date management adherence.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of complete and available kits to support production efficiency.
  • Support Oracle system recovery efforts and enhance system proficiency across planning and purchasing teams.
  • Track and improve monthly service level
  • Ensure on-time product shipments aligned with customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH) within optimal target ranges.
  • Ensure monthly sales targets are met through effective materials and shipping plans.
  • Contribute to the company’s financial performance and profitability by optimizing processes and ensuring resource efficiency
  • Promote and ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, and uphold 5S standards across all relevant departments

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Have a bachelors' degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have minimum of 5 years’ experiences with people management in engineered to order manufacturing environment.
  • Technical expertise/exposure on control valves
