MEP Technical Manager

The Role
Our Multi National MEP Contractor client has a new requirement for a well experienced MEP Technical Manager to join their team in the Ras Al Khaimah, UAE to work on major new high rise projects in the Emirates and wider GCC. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a MEP Technical Manager on complex major new build projects. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client. Key Responsibilities: To manage all Engineering requirements for the jobs ensuring timely draughting issuance within specification requirements. Weekly efficiency scheduling and resource control to be managed in line with the contract allowables. This business unit is operated within a separate cost centre and requires high understanding of cost and resource control. CADMEP + Modular Construction knowledge to be applied to all contracts. • Ensure that all contract specifications and guidelines are adhered to at all times during the commencement/construction/hand-over periods of the project. • Ensure that all contract specifications and guidelines are adhered to at all times during the commencement/construction/hand-over periods of the project. • Ensure that all materials and specification requirements are in line with the contract requirements and indicated/projected onto the drawings with clear and concise schedules. • Ensure that the Draughting facility has the required resource and capabilities to deliver the current works on hand. Make sure that external draughting and engineering resource is sourced at acceptable rates and held within the allowable at all times. • Manage a procurement/long lead item schedule in tandem with your line managers indicating delivery dates and the status of the pending material/s deliveries and follow up delivery dates whilst recording any issues which may impact programme delivery. • Manage and control the site interface requirements ensuring that clear and concise delivery plans are issued to the site managers. Make sure that the project teams are made aware of any changes within the specifications or IFT/IFC/Variable and that any variation/constraint/impact analysis is issued to the correct party. • Manage the Draughting team on site and make sure that all drawings are checked and signed off prior to issuing to the relevant Consultants – a weekly record of Drafting output with a four week look ahead and drawing submittal must be maintained at all times. Information and Engineering that is coordinated with offshore Draughting Teams must be accurate and detailed. (Site Based Draughting) • Value Engineering and Planning must be applied to all facets of the contract, you will be required to produce/submit a VE document during your review. You will also be expected to carry out/manage full material take-offs and issue the relevant measurables in tandem with the PM's/PE's/ComM's and confirm compliancy requirements are adhered to at all times as and when required. • Make sure that all Design, Engineering and Installation details are checked for compliance, usability, functionality and are in line with the overall design specifications and requirements. Make sure that Testing & Commissioning Requirements, Spares Requirements, Warranty and Defect Liability Periods are recorded and agreed with the relevant suppliers before issuing PR's and releasing LPO's.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required with a minimum of 10 - 15 years’ experience. • Computer literate in MS Office, and with good experience in Revit • Good knowledge of current MEP System Design techniques and technology • Good negotiation skills and interpersonal • Sound knowledge of local + international codes and standards • Understands and Manages Drawing Deliverable • Understands and Manages the Monthly Cost per Drawing • Records Primary Performance Documentation Requirements (Base Management) • Manages the Commercial Variables of the Project (Commercial Management) • Manages the Project QA/QC requirements (QA/QC) • Manages the Project Programme Deliverables (Planning Management) • Manages the Project HSE Requirements (HSE Management)
