Microtunnelling Project Manager (RTA Approved)

Contract: Full Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and RTA-approved Microtunnelling Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of microtunnelling projects in Dubai and other locations within the UAE. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of microtunnelling techniques, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing projects in compliance with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Management:
• Lead the end-to-end management of microtunnelling projects, from initial planning through to completion.
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure all projects are executed in full compliance with Dubai RTA standards and regulations.
• Liaise with RTA representatives to secure necessary approvals, permits, and inspections.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant RTA guidelines and standards.
• Ensure RTA required qualifications are kept up to date for the team.
• Technical Oversight:
• Oversee the selection, setup, and operation of microtunnelling equipment, including MTBMs and guidance systems.
• Review and analyse geotechnical and soil investigation reports to mitigate risks and ensure project feasibility.
• Provide technical solutions to challenges encountered during tunnelling operations.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage and guide project teams, including engineers, supervisors, and site workers, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork across all project activities.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify areas for skill enhancement within the team.
• Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor project progress against established timelines and budgets, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports, including updates on milestones, risks, and financial performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project activities and outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Facilitate clear communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
• Address and resolve project-related disputes or concerns promptly.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing microtunnelling projects, preferably in the UAE.
• RTA approval as a Project Manager for microtunnelling works is essential.
• Strong knowledge of microtunnelling technologies, equipment, and trenchless construction techniques.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis and soil mechanics in the Gulf region.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD)
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• Strong understanding of UAE safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
