Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)

An excellent opportunity is available with a leading banking organisation within the Abu Dhabi General Market (ADGM) for a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to oversee the Compliance and Financial Crime Program. This is an office based role, 5 days per week in Abu Dhabi.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will ensure compliance with ADGM/FRSA laws and regulations, identifying irregularities, and modifying processes to mitigate non-compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the Bank's FCC framework
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to foster a supportive compliance culture and anticipate regulatory changes
• Serve as the principal compliance contact on FCC matters with local regulators, prepare for regulatory examinations, and respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies.
• Work with department heads to improve issue identification and reporting, and provide strategic direction for the FCC framework
• Review and enhance FCC policies, systems, and controls, and monitor risk appetite and sanctions list management.
• Ensure accurate CDD/KYC processes, approve high-risk account on boarding, and advise on potential FCC risks.
• Assess training needs, coordinate FCC training programs, and ensure timely reporting and resolution of compliance issues.

The MLRO will possess extensive experience within the compliance function, and hold or have held approved person status within ADGM, DIFC or Central Bank. You will possess ACAMS qualification, and have a strong knowledge of regulatory bodies within the banking industry. You will have ability to influence senior leaders and drive compliance strategy, drive effective change and have strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
