Navigation Service Engineer

Brief Job Summary

Al Mabrouk Marine Services LLC is seeking a Navigation Service Engineer to manage installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine navigation systems onboard vessels, ensuring compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and class requirements while delivering timely, high-quality support to ship owners, shipyards, and offshore clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and calibrate:
• Gyrocompasses
• Autopilot and Steering systems
• Radar and ARPA
• ECDIS and Chart Plotters
• GPS/DGPS and AIS
• Speed Logs, Echo Sounders, VDR/S-VDR
• Execute new installations and retrofits, including system integration and configuration.
• Conduct dock and sea trials with class approvals as required.
• Prepare service reports, FAT/SAT documents, and test certificates.
• Provide technical support (remote and onboard) during urgent calls.
• Maintain tools, spares, and documentation per company procedures.
• Ensure adherence to IMO, SOLAS, and class regulations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and travel regionally/globally for service assignments.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Diploma/Degree in Electronics, ITA, Marine Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience: 2+ years in servicing marine navigation/communication systems (Freshers with relevant skills and studies are welcome).

Technical Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and marine wiring diagrams.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
• Familiarity with IMO, SOLAS, and GMDSS standards (preferred).
  
  

Soft Skills:

• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in marine/offshore environments.
• Flexible and willing to travel for port, shipyard, or offshore attendance.
  
  

Certifications (Preferred):

• GMDSS Maintainer License
• STCW Basic Safety Training
• Medical Fitness Certificate
• OEM Training Certificates in navigation/communication systems
  
  

Physical Demands

• Comfortable working in engine rooms, confined spaces, and heights during inspections and installations.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Primarily onshore with travel to ports, shipyards, and occasional offshore assignments based on project requirements.
