Role Summary:
This role will include handling Vessel Operations in the Dubai and Sharjah Ports, reporting into the Team Leader.

Role Summary:
This role will include handling Vessel Operations in the Dubai and Sharjah Ports, reporting into the Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Owners and Charterers with commercial analysis for planning of logistics.
- Conduct Market Intelligence and Research to identify Vessel movements.
- Preparation of reports on productivity and make plans to resolve issues and improve efficiency of the process.
- Tracking the complete operational cycle of vessels.
- Prepares and submit quotation and PDA concerning vessel operations both for alongside and anchorage calls.
- Management of various operations necessary for ship operations such as Commercial operation, crew management, spare part logistics, service and maintenance of the vessel, bunker intakes, Sludge disposal and various other husbandry activities.
- Co-ordinate with different functional entities during vessel’s port call for seamless operations.
- Delegate and monitor operations and documentation of vessels for quick turn-around.
- Coordinate, negotiate, procure from suppliers, vendors to spares, technical stores, provisions required for the vessel.
- Regular follow up with clients to ensure receipt of FDA (Final Disbursement account) funds.
- Customer satisfaction with all queries related to orders placed and expediting of the same.
- Third Party Inspections carried out as per schedule, without any delays due to lack of communication / co-ordination.
- Savings on freight rates due to negotiations with forwarders / combining shipments from single manufacturer.
- Timely shipment clearances / gate pass arrangements / material deliveries to customers as per contractual terms.
- Accurate invoicing to customers in line with agreed payment terms.
- Submission of L/C documentation to customer / timely submission to bank for negotiation.
- Timely supplier payments.
- Timely preparation of landed costs / accurate closure of jobs / update of expediting report.
- Solution to customers after sales queries.
- Close follow up with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and persuade for new business opportunities and references.
- Gives support 24 hrs. operationally and administratively both to the principal and to the management.
- Maintain Reports of Historic Activities – Port Call Management.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Shipping knowledge / experience is essential.
- Bachelors degree.
- Knowledge of Dubai and Sharjah Ports is essential.
- Quick to learn and develop.
- Adaptive to 24/7 work hours and flexible for changes if required.
- Determined, drive to see things through to completion at pace, willingness to challenge stakeholders.
- Flexible, ability to manage multiple priorities and pressure.
- Inquisitive, interest in understanding underlying business drivers.
