DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum

Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.

Recruiting - Outstanding Learning Support Assistant Inclusion – Secondary English and ELL

At DBSEH, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, engaging and committed Outstanding Learning Support Assistant Inclusion who have a proven track record of supporting children and teaching staff. Experience of English at Secondary Education level is essential. It is desirable to also have knowledge and experience of supporting students whose first language is not English. Experience of the National Curriculum for England in the UK; with additional experience in an international setting is considered an advantage. To assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the named student(s), including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL/ELL), providing a learning environment that supports their developmental, language, and educational needs under the overall direction of the class teacher and Head of Inclusion/SENCO.

Aside from experience, personality is very important, we look for inspirational support staff who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you're able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic attitude then we want to hear from you!

Professional Requirements

  • Minimum A - Level or equivalent (certificate must be MoFA attested)
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible in supporting various year groups.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and Inclusion team to implement individual targets or strategies.
  • Where applicable, support students in small group or 1:1 session targeting specific areas of needs. Ability to plan and deliver interventions is necessary.

Experience

  • Experience or aptitude for working with students with special educational needs as well as those acquiring English as an additional language. Essential subject knowledge of Secondary English curriculum up to GCSE level. Previous teaching assistant experience preferred across various Key Stages.
