Role overview:

The Pharmacy Technician, reporting to the Supervisor, Pharmacy, assists in daily pharmaceutical operations by preparing and filling prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and ensuring safe storage of medications in compliance DOH standards. Additionally, the role involves preparing intravenous solutions and admixtures, performing dosage calculations, and using aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support in medication preparation, double-checking, labeling, distribution, and delivery in compliance with local and international standards.
  • Monitors inventory, places orders, verifies receipts, and removes expired medications to ensure adequate pharmaceutical stock.
  • Prepares intravenous solutions, extemporaneous medications, and admixtures using aseptic techniques while ensuring accurate dosage calculations for all patient cases.
  • Receives, stores, and ensures proper storage conditions for medications while maintaining and calibrating pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Assists in filling prescriptions, typing labels, filing charge slips, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records.
  • Conducts routine inspections, monitors temperature and humidity, and ensures secure storage of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Supports patients and caregivers by providing medication, pharmacological information, and pharmaceutical services while maintaining records of medication distribution.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Pharmacy program of minimum 2 years course duration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills possess knowledge of key pharmaceutical procedures and current best practices.
