Job Description
Royal International Construction is a relatively new name in the UAE's vibrant construction scene, but it is one that harnesses the strengths and heritage of its founders and the expert talents of its proactive management team. The company currently employs over 500 construction experts located throughout the UAE, with an unparalleled skillset covering finance, architecture, design, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as project management. We also have an in-house team dedicated to producing high-standard technical bids and comprehensive and competitive commercial tenders.
The Planning Engineer is responsible for managing the project schedule, analyzing productivity, and ensuring construction milestones are achieved on time and within budget. This role is crucial in supporting project controls, generating reports, handling claims, and providing key insights on performance and contractual matters.
Area of Responsibility & Brief Description of Activities and Expected Output
Program of Works Updates: Continuously update and revise the master project schedule using Primavera or similar tools.
Weekly & Monthly Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Presentations: Develop project presentations for management and client meetings, focusing on progress and potential risks.
Claims & Notices: Prepare and support delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) claims, and issue relevant contractual notices.
Manpower & Productivity Studies: Monitor and analyze manpower utilization, productivity rates, and KPIs for continuous improvement.
Progress Monitoring: Track project activities against baseline; highlight variances and propose corrective actions.
Internal Program Oversight: Monitor internal task schedules and support team leads to align activities with project objectives.
Contractual Insight: Assist in reviewing contracts and provide input related to planning, claims, and time-related clauses.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Support other project needs as required by management or project circumstances.

Job requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction planning (UAE experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills
- Deep understanding of construction productivity, scheduling techniques, and contract administration
- Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Office Work: 60%
- Site Supervision: 40%
