Job Brief:
We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the full spectrum of production and maintenance operations at our Pallet Block Manufacturing Plant in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in continuous process industries and proven leadership at the middle management level. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strategic mindset, capable of driving operational efficiency, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and fostering team development to achieve business goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and control all production and maintenance activities of the plant.
- Coordinate with the Works Manager for daily plant requirements.
- Supervise the Maintenance Department for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and daily operations.
- Ensure plant processes run smoothly to achieve budgeted production levels.
- Guide and train workmen to improve operational efficiency through regular reviews and employee engagement.
- Implement and enforce Environmental Management System and Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Initiate and adopt modern technologies for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Liaise closely with the Sales Department to incorporate customer feedback and enhance the customer satisfaction index.
- Monitor and improve customer servicing quality.
- Identify operational hazards and grey areas, implement safety measures, and improve production quality.
- Manage the manufacturing process from wet chip handling to pallet top cover line.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Supervise enhancements in plant capacity, capability, technology, and systems.
- Maintain high productivity and effective systems management.
- Ensure adherence to EHS and housekeeping standards with necessary training programs.
- Lead successful project implementation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and system requirements.
- Maintain strong employee relations and manage departmental staffing and resource allocation.
- Analyze plant performance data for productivity, cost, and maintenance downtime benchmarks.
- Evaluate subordinates’ performance and provide timely feedback.
- Manage inventory of materials such as chemicals, clothing, packing materials, and consumables.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to meet environmental compliance.
- Keep senior management informed of daily plant operations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant QHSE standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical).
- 12–15 years in continuous process industries, with at least 8 years in a middle-management or section in-charge role.
- Industry experience: MDF, Particle Board, or Plywood manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of pallet block manufacturing processes (Mandate).
- Knowledge of ISO, IMS, TQM, TPM, SPC systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with QCS systems and computer literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with team leadership and motivational capabilities.
- Solid analytical and decision-making abilities.
