Job Description

The Physics department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in the field of computational physics. Candidates must have good experience with density-functional theory (DFT) packages such as VASP, Quantum Espresso and/or WIEN2k. The aim is to employ DFT to study the photonics, energy-storage and gas-sensing properties of 2D systems (Monolayers). The completion of a PhD degree in Physics or Materials Science is required. The appointment will be initially made for one year with possibility of extension for another year depending upon satisfactory performance. The nominal start date is as soon as possible. The position is located at the UAEU’s main campus in Al-Ain, about one and half hour drive from Abu-Dhabi. The UAEU is the largest and the top ranked public sector University of the United Arab Emirates.
