Power Production Technician Lead

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and inspection of power production equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
• Dismantles or partly dismantles machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
• Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock; orders the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sends the machine to a machine shop for major repairs; prepares written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops.
• Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustments for operation.
• Oversees and ensures all assigned and required tasks are performed during shift.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver’s license.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of full-time verifiable experience required.
• Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Shall be qualified as Power Production journeyman or master technicians with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial grade generators ranging in size from 5 to 2500 kilowatts is not required but strongly desired.
• Excluded from this classification are workers whose primary duties involve setting up or adjusting machines.
• Must have the ability to use hand and power tools and related types of equipment peculiar to the trade.
• Must have the ability to read and follow schematics, blueprints and other specifications.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
