The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Principal Buyers with a proven track record in ensuring the timely Procurement of materials, goods, or information within a supply chain by coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delays and optimize workflows for a high-profile client.

The Key Objectives For This Role Are

  • Responsible for the delivery of Procurement management initiatives across the business unit
  • Implementing category strategies that deliver tangible and sustainable savings across the business
  • Responsible for adding value / generating net savings through leveraging business wide spend, identifying efficiencies, driving out waste and reducing costs from within the supply chain, implementing and driving category management plans, driving innovation through strategic partnerships, effective executive Supplier Relationship Management, reduction and rationalization of suppliers, market and supplier intelligence to help inform management decisions
  • The individual will sit as part of the business unit Category Supply Chain team and support wider Supply Chain strategy and delivery in areas of Deployed Procurement and Business Improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of efficient procurement procedures and work practices, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards
  • Take ownership of the Project Procurement Execution Plan, regularly updating and maintaining it in accordance with project milestones and changes
  • Collaborate effectively with Licensors, Clients, and Wood secrecy agreements, fostering positive relationships and ensuring adherence to confidentiality agreements
  • Update and maintain comprehensive Project Supplier Lists, ensuring accuracy and relevance to project needs
  • Input all progress data into the Material Management System, ensuring real-time and accurate updates
  • Develop and nurture contacts with Suppliers' personnel, upholding ethical standards and corporate policies
  • Maintain a professional reputation with Suppliers through adherence to a code of conduct and business ethics
  • Stay informed about the materials supply situation, including area sources, price levels, and current deliveries
  • Contribute insights into current and projected price and delivery trends when requested
  • Provide valuable input to decision-making processes regarding procurement strategies
  • Execute spare parts coordination activities in alignment with the Project Procurement Execution Plan
  • Manage, direct, and support supply chain activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Accountable for the successful setup and delivery of all project supply chain processes, procedures, and activities
  • Prepare and issue the project-specific procurement execution plan and/or contracting strategy, aligning it with project scope and incorporating computerized systems
  • Establish and manage the project/procurement status report (PSR), adhering to project/client on-site dates and lead times
  • Conduct regular PS meetings with client, procurement, engineering, and project management personnel to maintain pre-order deliverable dates
  • Facilitating the communication between Discipline Engineering and vendors and other required stakeholders to drive and enhance the procurement execution
  • Work closely with the engineering, project management, and procurement teams to enhance the procurement execution up to the expected standards
  • Oversee procurement activities, including communications with ADNOC approved vendors, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring timely delivery of materials
  • Maintain procurement schedules, conducting commercial evaluations and cost analysis and identify any cost-saving opportunities

Expected

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline
  • Fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • EPCM/EPC Project procurement experience
  • Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations
  • Good knowledge of project procurement execution (start to finish)
  • Good knowledge of Oil and Gas supply chain or related supply chain
