Job Opportunity: Principal Engineer, Communications (EECE)

We are looking for a Principal Engineer, Communications (EECE) to join our dynamic team, guiding the development and integration of cutting-edge communications solutions for mission-critical applications.

As a Principal Engineer, you will bring your extensive experience in radio frequency, electromagnetics, and communications systems to provide technical leadership, guide design teams, and ensure seamless integration of data links and communications solutions. You will leverage your deep understanding of RF propagation, link analysis, and system design to optimize performance and meet international standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide guidance to design teams on RF and microwave systems' technical specifications, adhering to international standards and practices.
• Evaluate, test, simulate, and analyze line-of-sight and Satcom data links, offering solutions for link budgets, spectrum planning, and interference analysis.
• Oversee RF propagation analysis, microwave path analysis, frequency coordination, and interference analysis to ensure optimal system performance.
• Chair and organize design reviews, acceptance test procedures, and qualification test procedures to guarantee system compliance and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth through training and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate communication solutions into broader systems.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and best practices.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and resource management to drive successful project execution.
  
  

Required Competencies:

• Leadership & Management: Ability to lead and manage a team of engineers with strong problem-solving capabilities and excellent organizational skills.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of electromagnetic principles, system design, and RF engineering, with a focus on communication systems.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to foster cohesion, enthusiasm, and collaboration across teams, clients, and management.
• Systems Engineering Process: Proficiency in systems engineering, including requirements analysis, design, integration, verification, and configuration management.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Systematic fault-finding at both subsystem and system levels, with a proven ability to manage complex technical challenges.
  
  

Technical Expertise Required:

• Deep knowledge in signal analysis, Fourier transform, and probability.
• Expertise in electromagnetic theory, RF propagation, link budget calculations, interference analysis, and microwave network analysis.
• In-depth understanding of digital communications systems, modulation techniques, and channel coding techniques.
• Proficiency with engineering software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, CST/HFSS, and Microwave Office.
  
  

Experience and Qualifications:

• 20+ years of experience in electromagnetic/RF engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of technical managerial experience.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical/Communications Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Advanced knowledge of RF and electromagnetic system design, with applications in precision-guided munitions or similar domains.
