About The Role

The Procurement and Logistics Specialist will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of procurement professionals to ensure best possible Customer Relationship Management and Supplier Relationship Management practices are put into place during the procurement process. Furthermore, the P&L Specialist will be responsible for the sourcing, evaluation and negotiation for multiple groups of complex and high value commodities and services to achieve value for money at the lowest total cost of ownership and best competitive position for Emirates Group, in accordance with best practice Procurement and Logistics techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor Suppliers' compliance with contract terms and conditions, deliver routine attestations and reports. The Procurement and Logistics Specialist is also required to monitor Emirates Group compliance with contract terms and conditions with various commitments.
  • Manage contract library and control document access. Ensure consistent record retention with a view to establishing a shared repository with suppliers.
  • Facilitate timely problem resolution of contractual issues to minimise impact of service disruptions on Emirates, coordinate appropriate reviews.
  • Provide support to the Senior Leadership team, in the implementation of agreed strategies to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership and / or acquisition for multiple groups of commodities and services.
  • Supervise the function of sourcing, pre-qualifying and evaluating suppliers by Procurement team to assess what services and products suppliers are qualified to provide and advise senior Procurement and User Department Managers of the most appropriate commodities and services to meet the Specifications.
  • Ownership of authorising supply orders and contracts for values up to AED 10k. Responsible for analysing and preparing reports and recommendations for review and approval at P&L Manager/ Manager P&L when values exceed AED10k.
  • Supervise the development of tender documents from the Procurement team and facilitate cross-functional (inter-departmental) teams to produce detailed specifications (where appropriate, in conjunction with Legal, Insurance and User departments) and to subsequently issue for tender to obtain equal and competitive quotations. Partner with senior stakeholders on commercial conditions and risk considerations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in complex negotiations on the full range of commercial considerations and operational needs as required for multiple groups of complex and/or high risk commodities to ensure that the Emirates Group's best contractual and commercial position is attained.
  • Identify and take action to mitigate any unnecessary commercial risk for the Emirates Group procurement activity and supply base in any of the multiple groups of commodities or services under the Procurement team's activity.
  • Implement CRM/SRM programs across multiple commodity / service groups to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage supplier development and partnership.
  • Generate reviews with the buyers, activity and performance reports in order to ensure that the section is functioning efficiently and identify to Leadership areas where their guidance may be required.

Qualifications & Experience

This job might be for you if you have:

  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree related to Procurement
  • Must have CIPS Certification (Diploma/Advanced)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IT / Technology Sourcing , Contract Negotiation and Management, Category Strategy, Vendor Evaluation and Management . Preferably in Aviation / IT / Telecom industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial and contract negotiation’s role, procurement techniques, ideally with financial acumen within the P&L department of a large organization or for an independent IT solutions supplier.
  • Knowledge of IT products, an understanding of IT organization structures and their interrelationships in delivering service to customers.
  • Awareness of prevalent IT product and service methodologies and their basis/financial implications.
  • Ability and experience in managing end to end sourcing process for technologies include Cloud, Quantum, Automation, Robotics, Analytics, Data Centres, Data Science, Cyber Security and more. It smooths the journey to complete the tasks or achieve the goals and optimize the ROI.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing IT contracts, Price Models, negotiating key commercial and contractual terms.
  • Strategic management skill with in-depth knowledge of the market and offer insights to organisation like market size, projected growth, competitors, industry trend etc.
  • Ability to systematically analyse complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
  • Good negotiating, persuasive and interpersonal skills, both in one-on-one and group situations. Ability to apply creative thinking to solve problems
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry , project management and analytical skills is an added benefit.
  • Knowledge of standard IT contracts from a customer and supplier perspective is preferable
