As Product Architect -Fire Systems & Devices Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and functionality of our Fire products. Your responsibilities will span from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality, reliability, and efficiency. Seeking modularity will allow solution and system architectures to be shared across Life Safety and beyond. The architect will be responsible for defining and concisely communicating system interfaces, data structures, data storage, cybersecurity considerations, test automation concepts, and deployment approaches.This role will also ensure the Fire systems and devices are designed to meet specific market or country specification as well as comply with required standards (EN & UL) and regulations.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for Fire solution architecture and system architecture based on customer requirements/problems. The solution architecture will focus on meeting the customer and stakeholder needs while the system architecture will focus on leading the planning and high-level design of product solutions and architectural alternatives.
• The Fire market requires stringent safety and performance requirements, and the Fire Architect must possess the knowledge needed to identify the correct solution architecture and product architecture to meet local and global regulatory standards within Life Safety.
• Map out how these elements interact, considering system-level design principles.
• Allocate functions to physical components, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Ensure compliance with cyber security and environmental requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements (Market Customer Requirements /Voice of Customer).
• Determine the feasibility of proposed architectural solutions and balance trade-offs between functionality, performance, and cost
• Integrate subsystems and components into a cohesive whole.
• Optimize the overall system for efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
• Address system-level challenges such as scalability, security, and interoperability.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics/electrical/electromechanical engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in Life Safety Products Design systems
• Strong knowledge in Fire Product design & architecture and relevant standards
• Good technical development coordination (Software, hardware and mechanical)
• Strong technical thinking, analytical and core competency on electrical and electromechanical design
  
  
  

Skills

• Knowledge in smoke detection, optical sensing and radio technologies
• Results driven and ability to work within an international, culturally diverse and matrix based organization.
• Strong motivation to work with different expert teams and across regions
