We are seeking an experienced Production Accounting Specialist with a strong focus on the oil and gas industry, particularly within the Middle East region. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) capable of identifying potential risks to the business, generating probable “what-if” scenarios, and providing potential solutions to sustain production in case of unexpected events, such as trips, shutdowns, or other operational disruptions.

This role requires a deep understanding of Production Ratios and their integration into performance control processes, as well as proficiency in analyzing production data, detecting anomalies, and performing root cause analysis to mitigate operational challenges. The candidate should have a proven track record in production accounting, with specific experience in gathering and analyzing volumetric data, managing production accounting systems, and communicating with stakeholders across the oil and gas supply chain.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production data, including wellhead pressures, flows, temperatures, and fluid compositions, to identify any deviations from expected performance.
  • Working knowledge in production assurance and optimization of natural flowing oil and gas wells.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of the flow assurance techniques, programs and operational procedures.
  • Proactively identify potential risks to production, including the likelihood of unexpected events (e.g., trips, shutdowns), and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Generate and evaluate “what-if” scenarios to assess the impact of various operational disruptions and propose solutions to sustain production.
  • Understand and apply Production Ratios (current production vs. Production Plan) within performance control processes to trigger root cause analysis and other mitigating actions.
  • Utilize continuous monitoring systems to detect anomalies or inefficiencies in real-time production parameters, ensuring timely intervention to maintain operational integrity.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis in response to deviations from the production plan, recommending and implementing proactive actions to resolve issues.
  • Gather, calculate, and analyze volumetric data for wells, batteries, gathering systems, and gas plants to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Experience with routine well and reservoir surveillance, problem well diagnostics and proficient in downhole remediation practices and prepare field operational procedures
  • Knowledge of well start-up and shut down procedures for gas and gas and oil wells.
  • Daily production monitoring and well surveillance.
  • Deep understanding of well loading issues and production best practices.
  • Plan and program field/wells opportunities, surveillance plan a providing support to business plan.
  • Work with Cross-functional team to define and update the field completion/stimulation strategy
  • Experience with handling well tests, inventories, and sales in the production accounting system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Confirm pipeline deliveries and ensure that all related documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate volumetric activities and product splits to owners, producers, refineries, and purchasers, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Understanding of calculations associated with book revenues, royalties, tax credits, and processing fees, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Review purchaser statements, reconcile accounts receivable, and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Set up and update crowning incentives, royalty masters, and trucking deductions to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on production performance, potential risks, and proposed solutions to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure alignment on production strategies and actions.
  • Ensure all production activities are conducted in compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Production Management, Production Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in production accounting or a related role within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on the Middle East region.
  • Proficiency in simulation software and modeling using material balance, Nodal Analysis and surface Network Software ( Prosper-GAP- Pipesim, OLGA; or similar software).
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, equipment, and technologies used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience in using continuous monitoring systems and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing production challenges.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical and financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards in the oil and gas sector.
