We’re looking for a detail-oriented Production Line Inspector to play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our CNC machining operations. If you have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, this is the opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with CNC operators and supervisors to identify quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Check production outputs against specifications and maintain regular reports for your supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of inspection results, including any non-conformities and actions taken.
- Coordinate with CNC teams to qualify new setup parts, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards.
- Uphold 5S and Kanban systems on the shop floor to minimize waste and reduce defects.
- Continuously seek and implement process improvements to enhance overall quality.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) upon identifying defects.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles effectively.
- Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in quality inspection at a CNC machine shop.
- High School diploma.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the defense industry with regional exposure.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage performance and resources effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (Six Sigma).
- Understanding of HSE policies, procedures, and regulations related to machine shops.
- Proficiency in interpreting NC programs, commands, and Tool Libraries.
- Familiarity with FANUC and SIEMENS CNC controls.
- Expertise in precision measuring instruments and tooling management.
