Job Brief:

Our client, a leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize manufacturing operations. This role involves managing the production process, ensuring efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, particularly within the automotive, defense, or heavy manufacturing sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Execution:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Monitor and adjust production processes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with procurement, design, quality assurance, and logistics teams for smooth operations.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and supervise the production team, ensuring productivity and motivation.
• Conduct hiring, training, and performance evaluations for production staff.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Quality Control & Process Optimization:

• Ensure that all armored vehicle components meet industry and regulatory quality standards.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to minimize defects and rework.
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles and value engineering to optimize production efficiency.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety standards and government regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety measures to prevent workplace incidents.
• Maintain proper documentation and compliance records.

Resource & Budget Management:

• Manage manpower, equipment, and material resources efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement to ensure seamless production.
• Control production costs and develop budgets to optimize operational efficiency.

Reporting & Communication:

• Prepare and present production reports to senior management.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding production progress and challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in production management within the armored vehicle industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, quality control, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a factory setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and heavy materials.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or company-related operations.
