Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Purpose

To support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects by coordinating technical activities, managing contractor and consultant interfaces, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and client standards. Prior experience within Iraq is essential.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating all technical aspects of projects
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Support the Project Manager in managing site activities, contractor performance, and coordination with consultants and stakeholders
  • Monitor work progress and ensure alignment with project schedule and quality standards
  • Participate in the preparation and review of technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and progress reports
  • Assist in resolving design, construction, and site issues
  • Ensure compliance with Iraqi regulations, safety requirements, and environmental standards
  • Maintain strong communication with local authorities, utility companies, and third-party consultants
  • Support in cost monitoring and control activities
  • Participate in internal and client meetings, providing technical input where required
  • Assist in preparation of handover documentation and project close-out reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of Iraqi regulatory frameworks, approval processes, and local construction practices
  • Experience in working with government authorities, clients, and international stakeholders is an advantage

Key Skills

  • Strong technical and engineering background.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work in complex environments with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
