Position Summary

Manage parts or all of the execution of Transformation Program PMO activities, depending on size/complexity of the program and requirement for multiple PMO Analysts.

What is the scope of this role?

• Manage on-going Work Breakdown Structure and associated program governance, based on scope of solution and complexity of Transformation Program scope
• Perform any combination of the following PMO disciplines:
• Plan the program and monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate. Manage the Integrated Plan
• Manage Program Deliverables
• Analyze and pro-actively manage Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions (RAID). Manage the risks to the program’s successful outcome.
• Manage the change control process
• Prepare and deliver relevant reports for all Program governance processes and forums
• Manage quality and resource budgets: Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the program plan. Be responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the program, including periodic Quality audits.
• Manage communication with all stakeholders.
• Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects, including those under the responsibility of 3rd party vendors.
• Report overall progress of the program at regular intervals to the customer program director.
  
  

What skills and experience will you need for this role?

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Project / Program Management using leading project management methodologies and processes.
• Experience and proven ability to manage large programs with high levels of off-shore and near-shore resourcing
• Experience in multi-vendor, multi –business unit projects delivered from multiple locations
• Experience in program with wide scope of services, including but not restricted to technical solution delivery. In particular, should demonstrate ability to deliver programs including customer-facing SI services (PMO)
• Experience of managing multiple parties including Senior Project Managers and third party vendors on high profile and technologically innovative core business solutions
• Communications Industry experience is a must, although track record in delivery of programs in other service industries (utilities, finance, etc) would be acceptable. In particular, excellent grasp of functional and technical challenges of Business Support System applications (CRM, Billing, Ordering, Network Inventory, etc)
• Personal experience in software development or delivery is a plus, but not strictly required
• Project Management certification (e.g. Prince 2 level training or equivalent).
• PM tools (e.g. MS Project or equivalent).
• Understand and control budgetary control and resource allocation procedures.
• Ability to create a sense of community amongst the disparate members of the program teams.
• Ability to engage on a regular, professional manner with customer at the peer level (Customer Program Director) and at next hierarchical level (Program Executive Sponsor)
• Ability to work within complex matrixed delivery models, with complex internal RACI such as peer-to-peer relationship with Solution Engineering and Account Management
• Excellent Communication skills
• Assertiveness/Confidence
• Ability to quickly and efficiently resolve conflicts through proper governance processes (e.g. escalation)
• Ability to make quick decisions, based on rapid analysis/advice from key players (solution architect, PMO, etc)
