Purchasing Supervisor at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa

IHG Hotels & Resorts

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Ras al-Khaimah
Contract type: Full time
Ready for a role that keeps the whole operation in sync? We’re looking for a Purchasing Supervisor who can combine sharp oversight, practical decision making, and steady leadership to support the Purchasing Manager and the team. You will help drive reliable procurement processes, maintain strong supplier partnerships, and ensure every purchase meets InterContinental standards without slowing the pace of the resort.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Lead and support the purchasing team while promoting Regent’s philosophy through your conduct and grooming standards.
  • Oversee supplier selection and evaluation to strengthen our purchasing strategy.
  • Ensure all purchasing and receiving practices follow internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Review, approve, and track purchase requests, orders, backorders, and delivery timelines.
  • Keep complete and accurate records of all purchasing data.
  • Produce regular reports on spending, supplier performance, and cost control.
  • Work closely with department leaders to confirm their procurement needs and priorities.
  • Maintain clear communication with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Resolve issues related to orders, quality, discrepancies, or delays in a timely way.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and ensure effective stock management using Birchstreet or similar systems.
  • Conduct quality checks to make sure all purchased items meet Regent standards.
  • Support continuous improvement in purchasing workflows and team performance.
  • Carry out other duties as required.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Futurelog or similar procurement systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education is an advantage.
  • Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams and suppliers.
  • Detail-focused, organised, and confident in making sound decisions.
  • Able to manage several tasks at once in a busy environment.
  • Physical ability to stand, move around the property, and lift up to 40 pounds when needed.
  • A high level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to professional standards.
