Job Description:

As a Python Developer at Parsons, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient backend systems that support enterprise-level applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and DevOps professionals, to build robust APIs and backend services using modern frameworks. Your work will directly support mission-critical initiatives and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and backend systems.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Collaborate with teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Implement unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality.
• Maintain and optimize existing codebases for performance and scalability.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for deployment and integration.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience Requirement

• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in Python development, preferably in a fast-paced or enterprise environment.
  
  
  

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python with strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with one or more web frameworks: FastAPI, Django, Flask.
• Solid grasp of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket.
• Experience with writing unit tests using testing frameworks like pytest or unittest.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker).
• Experience with ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Celery is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) is a bonus.
