Job Brief:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QC Lab Technician to join a leading paper manufacturing company in Abu Dhabi. The role involves performing various laboratory tests, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and maintaining the accuracy and reliability of test results for pulp, paper, and chemical samples.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing of pulp, paper, and chemical samples (machine head box, refiners, back water, white water) using appropriate laboratory instruments and methods.
- Perform internal calibration of laboratory instruments and maintain accurate calibration records.
- Analyze wastewater samples for key parameters, including COD, BOD, MLSS, MLVSS, SVI, TSS, and TDS, and report results as per defined procedures.
- Test process and water samples for pH, viscosity, particle size, charge demand, zeta potential, total solids/gpl, conductivity, TDS, residual chlorine, hardness, DEHA, phosphate, and alkalinity.
- Record and maintain test results in the logbook, SAP, and MES systems, and make quality-based decisions according to acceptance criteria.
- Communicate any quality deviations to the Machine Shift Leader and QC Head for immediate corrective action and troubleshooting.
- Carry out special testing assignments as required and report results in a timely manner.
- Maintain laboratory asset management practices and ensure compliance with 5S standards.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and drive adherence to company quality policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a QC Lab Technician, preferably in the paper manufacturing or process industry.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and testing methods related to pulp, paper, and wastewater.
- Strong understanding of lab calibration, documentation, and quality control systems.
- Proficient in using SAP/MES or similar data entry systems.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
