Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed budgetary assessments and financial forecasts accurately for steel structure projects.
- Monitor and control all project costs against original budget to minimize overspend.
- Conduct cost analyses comparing actual performance with forecasted expectations regularly.
- Negotiate contracts and amendments with suppliers and subcontractors effectively.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective cost control systems and procedures.
- Coordinate with engineers and architects to ensure alignment on project budget aspects.
- Review and approve payment applications and variations ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide regular reports on financial progress to stakeholders and project managers.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant building regulations and safety standards compliance.
- Assist in the resolution of contract disputes and claims efficiently.
- Prepare lifecycle costing models and risk analyses for long-term project viability.
- Facilitate training and support for project staff on cost management and quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience specifically in steel structure projects.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management skills.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Proficiency in relevant software like AutoCAD, CostX, and MS Office Suite.
- Certified professional or member of professional body will be an advantage.
