The Opportunity
Are you someone with a strong underwriting background, with knowledge of the MENA market and of all Financial Lines products, including Cyber? The role suits an experienced underwriter who enjoys underwriting and trading in a very dynamic market, with the desire to learn and grow a profitable portfolio in a very strong and resilient team
Reporting to the Regional Head of Financial Lines for the MENA region, you will be underwriting all Financial Lines risks/products and will be engaging with all of Chubb’s main RI partners. We are looking for someone with a strong technical underwriting background, knowledge of all main products, with emphasis on the Cyber market and product.
The work includes underwriting in accordance to Chubb’s appetite and guidelines, quoting, and supporting the with admin and the manager on the necessary tasks to maximize performance on both the workflow and profitability. You will also be expected to represent Chubb externally and internally, engaging with a range of stakeholders, including but not limiting to, senior management, clients, RI brokers, cedents, and direct brokers.
Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:
Represent and promote Chubb at all levels across the region; to Brokers, Cedents, Clients and to all other internal and external partners.
Enhance visibility and develop external market awareness, provide flexible strategies to support changing market dynamics and to deliver exceptional service at all times.
Responsible to underwrite all Financial Lines products, including Cyber
Optimize performance to help deliver Chubb MENA’s targets
Develop and own many Financial Lines underwriting tasks
Input into furthering technical understanding of current and emerging risks, opportunities and customers
Review wordings
Identify profitable opportunities in the market
Work on tasks optimizations, improving efficiency
Qualifications
What skills & experience are required?
Ability to engage and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of the MENA market
Excellent communications skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and solve issues using own initiative
A professional who is recognised by the market that exudes all qualities expected of a Chubb Underwriter
Relationships with reinsurance and direct brokers
Strong technical underwriting knowledge preferably in Cyber
ACII or progress towards is preferred though not essential
Fluent in English (Arabic and/or French advantageous)
